The song has ended, but the melody lingers on.  James Spencer Littlejohn, Jr., born June 27, 1959 in Gastonia, North Carolina to Delores Ann Smith Littlejohn and the late James Spencer Littlejohn, Sr.  He passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2015 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina due to a chronic illnesses.  

Spencer was a quiet and humble man with Godly standards Who never missed an opportunity to tell anybody how good His God Is. He never complained, but instead put all his faith in His God. Consuming God’s word to daily renew his strength was 
manifested in the boldness that he exuded.

Prior to his illness, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to jazz concerts and taking trips to the beach or mountains. 

He attended South Carolina State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, as well as played one the basketball team.  

He was a charter member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Gastonia, North Carolina where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board.  He later joined Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church, Gastonia, North Carolina to worship with his wife and daughter.

He was employed by Gaston County Schools, Wix Corporation and Yellow Freight Trucking.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Plato and Lula Smith, Sr. 

He leaves to cherish precious memories his wife of fifteen years, Cynthia M. Littlejohn and daughter, Ja’Lessia A. Littlejohn of the home; two sons, Spencer S Littlejohn, II of Salt Lake City, Utah and Vincent A Littlejohn of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Khloe Littlejohn and, Kayden Littlejohn.

Also leaving to rejoice in his memories, are his mother, Ms. Delores A Littlejohn, Gastonia, NC; two sisters, Deborah Currence (JR) and Cheryl Littlejohn of Stanley, NC; four sisters in law, Julia Hoyle (Glen), Ada Hoyle (Clarence), Anna Myers (Phillip) and Mary Woods; two aunts, Loretta Rhyne (Larry) of Alex, Raleigh, NC and Cherry Richardson of Washington, DC; one uncle, Plato Smith, Jr., of Washington, DC; close friend, Teresa McKinney; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Saturday, October 29, 2016 @ 2:00 P.M.

VISITATION
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to funeral.
(1:00 until 2:00 p.m.)
