Mrs. Dena Tate Barber was born December 21, 1951 in Gastonia, North Carolina and departed this life Monday, November 7, 2016 at Alexandria Place in Gastonia, North Carolina.  She was the daughter of the late Charles Edward Graham and Ruby Frances Tate Armstrong.

Dena was a faithful member of the New Beginning Missionary Baptist Church in Gastonia, North Carolina where she served on the Deaconess Board until her health failed her.

She was a graduate of South Point High School in Belmont, North Carolina “Class of 1969”.  She also graduated from Kings Business College, Charlotte, North Carolina “Class of 1971”.  Dena was employed with BellSouth Telecommunication for twenty-nine years until she retired.  She was also employed with Pathways, Gastonia, North Carolina.

Dena was a devoted wife and mother.  She leaves to cherish precious memories her devoted husband of forty-five years, William N. Barber of the home; three sons, Rodney R. Barber of Gastonia, N.C., DeMarcus N. Barber of Charlotte, N.C. and William S. Barber (Holly) of Eglin, FL; two sisters, Lillian Tate of Gastonia, N.C. and Harvey L. Graham of Charlotte, N.C.; three brothers, Larry Tate (Brenda) of Gastonia, N.C., James Armstrong (Sherri) and Willie E. Graham of Gastonia, N.C.; stepmother, Sarah Graham of Gastonia, N.C.; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Saturday, November 12, 2016 @ 1:00 P.M.

VISITATION
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to funeral
(12:00 until 1:00 p.m.)

    I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Death is very hard to deal with. The bible provides comfort for us during these times. Revelation 21:4, 5 and also Isaiah 26:19 please read these scriptures for comfort and hope.
