|Charles James June was born in York County, South Carolina on May 26, 1943 and departed this life on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Charles James June, Sr. and Mary Belle June.
He attended Lincoln High School in Bessemer City, North Carolina and graduated with the “Class of 1964). He joined the United States Marine Corp were he did a tour of duty in Vietnam and received a honorable discharge with the rank of Staff Sgt. He worked at the Gaston Gazette in Gastonia, North Carolina as a Linotype Printer. After leaving the Gazette he went on to work at Avery Dennison until it closed. He was then employed with the Gaston County School System where he later retired.
He was a member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, the Shriners Temple and the Lyon Club.
Besides his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert June and Ervin June; a very special companion, Josephine Tate.
He is survived by his wife, Arelene June; four sons, Dwuan (Audry) of Alexandra, VA, Dominique (Holly) of Camp Springs, MD, Charvis (Brooke) of Gastonia, N.C. and Charles James June, Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; five granddaughters, Jasmine, Asia, Cherish, Chaydon and Alicia; two grandsons, Jaron Wesley and Galen; one great granddaughter, Payton; two sisters, Dorothy Woods (Major) and Sara Mackins (Alvin); four brothers, Willie (Betty), Samuel (Patricia), L.C. (Juanita) and William (Kelly); one sister-in-law, Deborah June; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home for thirty minutes prior to funeral.
