Eugene "Gene" Torquato Leone, of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, passed away November 25, 2016, after a prolonged illness.  He was the second son of Anacleto Torquato Leone and Eugenia Pitaniello Leone born in Detroit, Michigan.  Mr. Leone's greatest fear was WWII would end before he could enlist.  He enlisted in the United States Navy at age 17 and served in the Pacific Theater as a Helmsman aboard the USS Enterprise.  Before enlisting into the Navy, Gene had been a working cowboy in Wyoming and Montana.  After World War II, he attended California State College, Long Beach, receiving a Business Administration Degree with a minor in Psychology.  He was a Reserve Police Officer and in 1960 qualified for the US Olympic Shooting Team, setting three world records in the process.  Gene loved hunting, fishing, shooting, camping hiking and of course, his family.  He was a loving father and devoted husband.  Gene was a generous, giving man who quietly helped those in need.

He is survived by his sister, Bebe Leone, of Riverview, Michigan; son, Eugene Leone, of Worland Wyoming; daughters – Corrine Leone, of Orange, California, and Cathy Tiley of Menifee, California; grandchildren - Bryce, Brettney, John-Mark, Justin and Derik and 6/great-grandchildren which include Solace and Zoe.
