MR. WAYNE THOMAS

On Saturday morning, December 24, 2016 Wayne knew it was well with his soul.  He embraced his transition quickly as the Angel of Death visited him.

He was born on April 3, 1933 in Anson County, North Carolina to the late Fletcher and Bertha Staton Thomas.  He retired from Yale Norton in Monroe, North Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving and caring wife of 61 years, Frances Barrino Thomas; son, Wayne Ervin Thomas of Charlotte, North Carolina, daughters, Toni Barrett (Melvin) of Marshville, North Carolina, Rita Thomas Ross of Charlotte, North Carolian, Ranessia Thomas Smith of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Robin Thomas Morning (Tyrone) of Indian Trail, North Carolina, Roxanna Thomas Massey (Marvin) of Indian Trail, North Carolina.  13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by six brothers, Fletcher, Bobby E., Lonnie, Edward, Keith and Aaron C. Thomas but leaves
one sister, Marjorie Chambers (Brevard) of Lancaster, South Carolina; one aunt, Cora Staton of Oakboro, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Mary Lee Huntley of Charlotte, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Carl Barrino of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mark Barrino (Geraldine) of Marshville, North Carolina.  A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.

 

The Homegoing Celebration was held on Friday, December 30, 2016, 12:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.  Burial followed in Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
