Gertrude Williams Celius, the first of fifteen children was born on
May 5, 1933 to the late Paul, Jr. and Leola Sino Williams. She was the
granddaughter of the late Anita Alveris Williams. She departed this
life on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Passages Hospice in New Orleans,
LA. Mrs. Celius was a long time employee of the Orleans Parish School
System.
Beloved mother of Ronald Smith, Jr. ( Francine), Vera, Cynthia Mae and
Kathy Reed, the late Veronica Bienemy. Motherly grandmother of
Kashanda and Kanisha Perllerian. Beloved sister of Bernadine Johnson,
Anita Williams Hughes, Ronald Williams (Gilda), Ulyesses, Joseph Caul,
Elouise Williams, the late Estella Bailey, Mable Bienemy, Dora
Salvage, Charles and Norman Williams. Also survived by fourteen
grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and Friends,; Pastor, Officers and members of Branch Bell,
St. Andrew, Bethlehem and St. Luke Baptist and all other neighboring
churches of Plaquemine, St. Bernard and New Orleans are invited to
attend the funeral. A Homegoing celebration honoring Mrs. Celius will
be held in the Chapel of the Roses of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral
Home, 1615 St. Philip Street on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 10 AM,
Rev. Alton Reed, Officiating.
Interment English Turn Cemetery, Braithwaite, LA.
Visitation 8 AM IN THE CHAPEL.
