Edward L. Little departed this life on January 16, 2017 at 5:56am at Ambassador Health and Rehab.  Born December 11, 1936 in Anson County, the son of the late James Little and Willie Mae Little. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Vera Little; youngest child, Williet Little Chambers (Bradley); brothers, John and James Little; sisters, Sarah and Merleen Little; grandson, Kennard Little and Goddaughter, Avis McNeil.

Edward attended the Anson County Schools and confessed Christ at an early age.  He was a faithful member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.  He worked as a carpenter by trade for many years of his life until his health began to fail.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children, Alex McNeil, Iris McNeil, Shirley Teal (James), Kenneth Little (Petula), Wanda Gatewood (Charles) and Thomasina Rivers (Ricky).  Grands reared in the home, Kimberly McNeil and Sheca Cox (Mike).  Seventeen (17) grands and twenty (20) great grands.  One Godson, Clifton Hamilton. 

He also leaves to mourn seven siblings, Edna Franklin, Effie Simpson, Mary Law, Esther Smithey all of Maryland, Leroy Little (Helen) of Charlotte, NC, Grover Little and Annie Grady both of Wadesboro, NC.  Two aunts, Edna McCauley of Thomasville, NC and Josephine Sturdivant of Lilesville, NC.  Two sisters-in-law, Area Chance (Virgil) of Polkton, NC and Pattie McNeil of Morven, NC.  Additional sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 


The Homegoing Services were held on Friday, January 20, 2017, 2:00pm, Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina.  Burial  followed in the family plot of the church cemetery.
