Ms. Mary Ann Barnes, 63 was a native of Sebastopol, Mississippi and a resident of Jackson County for over fifty years. She was born, July 3, 1953 to the late Lucille Williams and Howard Carter. Mary exchanged her life for eternal peace on January 15, 2017 at her home.

Mary was a faithful member of Union Baptist Church in Pascagoula, Mississippi where she was an active member until her health failed her. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Lucille Williams, father Howard Carter, Step-Father Harvey Williams, Sr., step mother Mrs. Oda D. Carter, one brother Austin Carter, sister Julia Faye Richond, and son-in-law Kendall Cunningham.

Mary was survived by three daughters; Kimble Cunningham of Pascagoula, MS, Nikita (Tommie) McArthur of Irvington, AL, Le’Teria Barnes of Pascagoula, MS. Four sisters; Dempsey (Faye) Nelson of Biloxi, MS, Linda McLeod of Bassfield, MS, Gloria Hadley, Thorlyn Carter-Lewis of Philadelphia, MS, four brothers; Harvey Williams, Jr. of Boston MA, Prentiss (Tammy) Williams, Kenneth Ray Williams of Anchorage, AK, and Norman Carter of Philadelphia, MS, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 surrogate grand-daughter, Lakeshia May, 2 God-sons; Glenn Donald, Tawaskie Anderson, one special devoted niece Shirl Williams, and love and devoted friend Necole Broughton, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
