Willa Kae Pryor

August 11, 1939 ~ January 15, 2017

Less than a week after the passing of her Mamadu, her beloved cat of twenty plus years, Willa Kae Pryor suddenly died in her T or C home.  In addition to her family, friends and Mamadu, Willa loved literature, letters, and genealogy – music that ranged from Pavarotti to Native American and Gregorian changes – pottery, photography, and paintings.  She also loved petroglyphs and Perseids, cactus and rocks – not to mention the earth’s endless natural beauty.  She was once complemented for supporting us “wild kids.”  We will miss you, Mom, including the way you remembered everyone’s birthday and holidays with a loving card.

Willa was born in Stafford, Kansas to Wyllis Pryor and Eileen Schulz.  She is survived by her son, Noah Myers, his wife, Rakhi, and their sons, Amar and Kavi; her son, Dane Myers, his wife, Melinda, and their daughters, Emily, Madeleine, and Natalie; her daughter, Geneva Pryor and her daughter-in-law, Michelle Myers.  She is also survived by her sister, Sharon and husband, Michael; her brother, James and wife, Lucy.  Willa was preceded in her death by her extraordinary and extreme skiing son Benjamin “Ben Air” Myers.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for l p.m. on February 5th at the Sierra Grande Lodge in T or C.  In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a donation to the 2017 Ben Myers Ridge-A-Thon at Taos Ski Valley (via the Taos Community Foundation, P. O. Box 1925, Taos, NM   87571)
Arrangements are by Kirikos Family Funeral Home, Inc. & Sierra Crematory, LLC, 303 N. Cedar St.-T or C, NM   87901 575/894-2574

I will truly miss Willa. She always helped when needed and was an avid genealogist. She always called during my cancer treatments to see how I was doing. She was quite a lady.

You will always be remembered by me, you were one of the first real friends I made when I arrived in this country. We shared so many memories last year. Yes, I will miss you. May you rest in peace, Love, Monika
