Lilian P. Jennings  90, of North. Las Vegas formerly of Youngstown, OH passed away December 7, 2016 in North  Las Vegas, NV.
Ms. Jennings was born May 24, 1926 in Youngstown the eighth child of Paul Pegues Sr. and Jesse Braley Pegues.  She was educated in Youngstown local schools and graduated from The Rayen School in 1944.  She fulfilled her desire to become a school teacher after attending YSU graduating with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. She taught locally at Lincoln and Monroe Elementary Schools.  She attended Edinboro University (PA) earning a Master's degree in education.   She obtained her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.  She joined the faculty of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA retiring as an Assistant Dean of Education in the late 1980's.  She also worked as a clinical psychologist for the State of California in Orange County.  Lillian was a life member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.  Lilian published several books based on her research of her South Carolina heritage.  She was regonized by both Who's Who in Black America and the Daughters of the Confederacy for her literary works. She enjoyed sewing and fashion design, reading and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Robert, Carl, Paul,Jr (Buck), Charles( Dack) and William (Fruky) and three sisters, Elva Liane( Lena) DeJarmon, Mazzerine (Mattie) Thompson and Elsie Shannon.  
She leaves two children to cherish her memory Daniel Jennings of Pocahontas, VA, Kimberly Jennings of North Las Vegas; her grandson, Jordan Napolitano of N. Las Vegas; her granddaughter, Amber Shull of Virginia; her sister, Frances P. Carter of Youngstown; as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
