Mary Jo Gustin, 77, of Truth or Consequences, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017. Her journey began in Phoenix, AZ on March 19, 1939 born to Frank and Ruth Eisert. The family moved to Astoria OR for sometime before relocating to Muskogee, OK, where Mary Jo graduated from high school. She continued her education at Northeastern University in Talequah, OK  where she received her degree in education. Mary Jo worked in the education field for 28 years.

 Mary Jo’s talents were many, she was an extremely accomplished artist, green chile cook off winner, gardener, special education educator, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who loved to entertain. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and family game nights.

 Mary Jo is survived by her sister, Luanne; children - Wanda & John Dolby and Misty Gustin; grandchildren - Lane and Amanda Forrister, Stephany Clark, Allen Clark, Mckayla Womack, Payton Tibbetts, Baylee and Oren Booher; and Great-grandson, Coleson Forrister.

The family of Mary Jo wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the staff at UNM Hospital. A Memorial Celebration Service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 10:00 AM and there will be a potluck at the Moose Lodge in celebration of life to follow at 1:00 PM.

    Mary Jo was one of the best friends I had. We had so much fun with are bowling team. We went together to all the bowling tournaments and had a ball. I well miss you
