MRS. PEGGY KNOTTS CHAMBERS

Mrs. Peggy Ruth Knotts Chambers, the daughter of the late Clinton (Buster) Knotts and Georgia Steward Knotts was born on November 17, 1958, in Wadesboro, North Carolina. Surrounded by family and love, she passed away into eternal sleep on Thursday morning, January 26, 2017.

She was known to many as “Peg and Pam” because she has a twin sister-Pam. Peggy was a life-long member of Kesler Chapel  AME Zion Church and was a proud graduate of Bowman High School Class of 1977. Upon graduating from high school she worked for Glen Manufacturing and Cuddy Foods. Later, she spent 33 years working for Tyson Foods, Inc.  in Quality Control. Also, Peggy continued her education at South Piedmont Community College and worked as a lead teacher at Huntley’s Childcare.

Peggy married Dexter Chambers in 1996 and relocated to Monroe, North Carolina. She loved her faith, fashion, family, friends and fun. Her favorite times of the year were trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Family and Friends Day at Kesler Chapel. Peggy was often referred to as the “Original Diva” by her family because of her wittiness and keen fashion sense.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: spouse, Dexter Chambers of Monroe, NC; two daughters, Marchandra (Zesta) Gaddy of Morven, NC, and Cyekeshia (Roderick-Dale) Pickett of Lilesville, NC. One grandson, Zyquabian Pickett, who she affectionately called “Scooter Booter", followed by a kiss leaving lips printed on his face; three sisters, Loretta Christon, Florine Mackey and Pamela (Roger, Sr.) Rorie all of Wadesboro, NC.  Three brothers, Paul Knotts of Fayetteville, NC, James Knotts of Baltimore, Maryland and Dennis Knotts of Wadesboro, NC.; one brother, Nathaniel Knotts, preceded her in death. One granddog-Darla who provided companionship; one aunt, Bernice K. Horne of Wadesboro, NC; Two uncles, Fred Knotts (Betty Ruth) of Polkton, NC, and Riston Knotts of Charlotte, NC; three special nieces she help rear-Fatima (Robert) Witherspoon of Wadesboro, NC, Dr. Takeda (Thomas, Jr.) LeGrand of Wingate, NC, and Brandy (Marquis) Brown of Lilesville, NC; two special nephews she help rear, Roger Rorie, Jr. and Zion Witherspoon of Wadesboro, NC; a special caretaker-Mrs. Crystal H. Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Celebration was held on Sunday, January 29, 2017, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.  Burial  followed in Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74 West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
