Funeral ceremony for Deacon John E Johnson,74, of Heflin will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 1PM at Macedonia Baptist Church, Heflin, with Pastor Judge Stringer, III, Officiating and Pastor Frederick A Johnson, Sr., Eulogist. Burial will follow in Macedonia Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held today from 1-7PM with a Wake from 6-7PM at the funeral home. Goodson Funeral Home directing.

Deacon John Edward Johnson was born February 12, 1942 to the parentage of Rev. Claude Bart Johnson and Mrs. Eula Clyde Johnson in Cleburne County, Alabama. Deacon Johnson received his formal education from the Heflin Training School. He confessed Christ at an early age, and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church in Heflin; where he served as Deacon.

On January 29, 2017 at RMC in Anniston, AL, Deacon Johnson received his Master’s Call. He was preceded in death by his wife, Matilda Ann Johnson, son, Javis Edward Johnson, and father, Claude Bart Johnson.

Deacon Johnson leaves to cherish his precious memories, children Miranda Ann Brown(Gregory) of Huntsville, AL, Frederick Arnold Johnson, Sr.(Jennie) of Las Vegas, NV, Benjamin Lee Johnson, Sr.(Maggie) of Heflin, AL, Angie Lafaye Johnson of Oxford, AL, Phillip Edward Lee Ervin of Fort Worth, TX, Suelene Thomas of Riverdale, GA; mother, Eula Clyde Johnson of Heflin, AL; brothers, Claude Baxter Johnson of Heflin, AL, Charles Norris Johnson(Angie), Michael Anthony Johnson, and James Kenneth Johnson (Jewelyn) all of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Gertrude Stephens(James) of Oxford, AL, Judy Doris Edmond(Isaac) of Huntsville, AL, Susie Ann Johnson of San Francisco, CA, Marvell JeFaye Jackson(Leon) of Mobile, AL; 27 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
