On February 14, 2017, Stafen B. Polk departed life here on earth.  Having joined Meltonville Baptist Church in Peachland, NC, Stafen called “Bug” by his family grew into adulthood.

 After attending Anson Sr. High School, he began work at Tyson Foods, later working at Mr. D’s Restaurant and with his favorite uncle, King Jr.

Stafen “Bug” never met a stranger and was able to relate to many as he was raised to do by his loving parents.  He also had a love for music--not only rap but he was a lover of Gospel Music.  He knew God throughout his life.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his father and mother, Stafen and Shirley Polk of Wadesboro, NC; sister, Shonda P. Chambers (Otis) of Wadesboro, NC; three sons, Antonio Pratt of Wadesboro, NC, Tyzhee Brown of Laurinburg, NC and Malik Polk of Charlotte, NC.  Two goddaughters, Yazman Burns of Monroe NC and Hillary Burns of Charlotte, NC.  Two nephews, Samuel and Otis Chambers of Wadesboro, NC.  Aunts and uncles, King Polk Jr. (Betty) of Wadesboro, NC, Alvin Polk of Greensboro, NC, Willie Bee Polk of Charlotte, NC, Marjorie McCaudle of Greensboro, NC, Martha Davis of Wadesboro, NC, John Collins (Sallie) of Lilesville, NC, Rosa Conrad of Wadesboro, NC, Sally Leggett (Sam) of Wadesboro, NC, Larry Caple of Lilesville, NC, Willie Rae Caple of Wadesboro, NC and Anthony Peguese (Renee) of Wadesboro, NC.  A special friend, Laura Brown.  A host of cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, King and Louise Polk and Alexander and Effie Caple; one aunt and four uncles.

age 41 of 3662 Country Club Road, Wadesboro, North Carolina departed this life on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at his residence.  Funeral services will be on Sunday, February 19, 2017, 4:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.  Burial will follow in Morning Star Redeem Church of God Cemetery, Lilesville, North Carolina.
