Losing You
Our hearts still ache in sadness,
And secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know

Mrs. Gertie Perry Evans, age 89, of 271 Horace Perry Road, Warrenton, NC departed this life on March 15, 2017 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

 Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, March 25, 2017 from the General Assembly of AFC OGG, 109 Highway 301, Garysburg, NC. The Bishop Nathan Perry will officiate and Reverend Clarence Cooper will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 9:00 am at Mt. Zion Holiness ChurchinCenterville,NC.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Seven children, David Evans, Jr., Joseph Evans, Lawrence Evans, Sr., Rev. Dr. Jean Evans-Harris, Linda Evans, Sandra Jones and Brenda Hall (all of Baltimore, Md); four sisters, Savannah Bolton and Lucy Alston (Willie) of Warrenton, NC, Marion Peterson of Durham, NC and Hazel Blount (Larry) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; four brothers, Bishop Geanie Perry (Ruth) of Warrenton, NC, Ronald Perry of Newark, NJ, James Perry of Henderson, NC and Michael Perry of Raleigh, NC; eighteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

    Our prayers are with you at this time of your lost. I will always remember Sister Gertie as the woman with lots of energy as she served the Lord. She had a sweet and loving spirit. I am assured she is resting is resting in the arms of my Savior. Love the Barnes family
