Mother Jamesena Blaylock, 93, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2017 at her home in Albany, GA.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. from the Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 315 S. Madison Street, Albany, Georgia. Rev. Kelvin Moore will provide the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery, 1903 Dawson Rd, Albany, Georgia. A wake will be Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. in the Meadows Funeral Home Chapel.
Mother Blaylock was born on Aug 24, 1923 to the late Mose and Pauline White. At an early age she joined the church and accepted Christ as her personal savior.  She received her education at Georgia Normal and graduated Valedictorian of her class.  Jamesena married Odolph Blaylock who preceded her in death in 2005. Jamesena was a devoted and a loving mother of 9 children; all of whom survive her.  She was a homemaker with many creative gifts; an accomplished piano player, a skilled seamstress, a manager with her husband, Odolph, of the home and family farm, and she made the lightest and most delicious biscuits EVER.   She encouraged her children to get the best education and to develop their gifts.  She was supportive and nurtured all of her children.  She liked the beach, classical music, dogs, and ducks.  Mother Blaylock was a trusted friend rendering an attentive ear and speaking words of wisdom to those who confided in her.  The children know her for the special, gentle touch of her hands expressing love, healing, and reassurance. She had the generous heart of a servant and was often referred to as the neighborhood’s one person “salvation army” for providing food and shelter, before it was fashionable, to neighbors expressing a need.
Left to treasure her memories are her loving children: Olivia Lee (Raymond) of Burtonsville, MD; Gloria Blaylock of Albany, GA; Randy Blaylock of Columbus, GA; Geralyn Blaylock-Few of Albany, GA; James Blaylock of Stone Mountain, GA; Joan Sylvester of Decatur, GA; Wanda Blaylock-Martin of Lithonia, GA; Debra Blaylock-Hill of Albany, GA; and Gregory Blaylock (Yumi) of Kawagoe, Saitama, Japan.  She is survived by 30 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, several great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

"As I sit in heaven and watch you everyday, I try to let you know with signs I never went away. I hear you when you're laughing and watch you as you sleep, I even place my arms around you to calm you as you weep. I see you pray each day thanking the Lord I finally made it home, so I try to send you signs so you know you're not alone. HEAVEN IS TRULY BEAUTIFUL just you wait and see. So live your life, laugh again, be free. Then I know with every breath you take, you'll be taking one for me.".....Family, we love you all and you are in our hearts!

I am truly sorry for the loss and pain that the Blaylock family and friends are feeling because of losing Jamesena recently in death. Most of us have had to endure the sorrow of losing a loved one in death. What helped me the most was prayer and faith in God's promises like found here at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 and it tells us: "And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing." God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises, including the resurrection. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40, John 11:23-25) Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: "is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago." Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will live......And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever. For Jehovah himself has spoken it."For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. Jehovah (Psalm 83:18) invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Again, the family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences.
