Ms. Earnestine Rountree, 51

Earnestine Rountree was born April 4, 1965 to Evangeline Roney Rountree and the late Earnest Rountree Sr. in Fort Myers, Florida.

She was educated in the Lee County, Florida School system until her father’s demise.  She later attended and graduated from Brooks County High School in 1983 with honors.  She graduated from Thomasville Area Technical College in Thomasville, Georgia as a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1985 with honors.  After graduation, she worked at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Georgia.

In 1987, she joined the United States Armed Services (Army) and served as a ranking Sergeant.  She retired after 10 years of service.  Earnestine was a member of the Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.

She leaves to cherish her memories; two sons, Shamarie (Temetrice), Valdosta, GA, and Jonathan (Lekeshia), Valdosta, GA; one daughter, Alexis, Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Shamariana, Amari’, Jonathan Jr. and Jamarie; her mother, Evangeline Rountree, Dixie, GA; sister, Maggie Newsome (Robert), Thomasville, GA, one sister, Tammie preceded her in death; two brothers, Earnest Rountree (Teresa), Lake Park, GA and Terrell Rountree (Monique), Leesburg, GA, other sorrowing relatives and devoted friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Beulah Hill Baptist Church in Dixie with Pastor Alonza A. Fudge officiating. Military burial followed in the church cemetery.
