"Smitty" was part of the CHERRY BRANCH FERRY crew from approximately 1998 to about 2004. He was the watchkeeper for the Minnesott Beach shore station. We thought of him as "Mr. Minnesott"; he always had a huge smile for everyone and reminded all of us to "Have a Happy." We missed him greatly when he retired. Our sympathies are with you in your loss.

Gentle, kind, and, always, positive as he communicated, not with a lot of words, but through his demeanor in one with his words. Cards at Christmas was a hallmark of Uncle Ludwell making my family enriched by a caring uncle. Thanks Uncle Ludwell, now is your time to rest and know that you were inspirational and a pleasure.

Greetings Smith-Dudley Family, we were sadden to hear of Uncle Ludwell's passing, but take comfort in knowing that he knew 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 "Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." May grace and peace be with you all! The NBMOF Family
