|Marnzell Hand, Sr. was born April 3, 1955 in Staten Island, New York, and exchanged mortality for immortality on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. Marnzell was the son of Gracie Phillips Hand and the late Jerry L. Hand. He was preceded in death by his son, Marnzell Gerald Hand.
Marnzel’s early church influence was by way of the Henry’s Chapel A.M.E, Zion Church, Belmont, North Carolina. We must note Marnzell’s enjoyment of laughter! In fact, he had a hearty laugh that would embrace all around him.
Marnzell received his diploma from Central Piedmont Community College, Charlotte, North Carolina. His career path included several areas of employment ranging from food service to business work operations. One of the most interesting aspects of Marnzell’s life was his joy and delight in playing the game of “chess”. Marnzell participated in several state chess tournaments, and beyond. I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Death is so hard to deal with. The bible does provide us with comfort and hope during times such as these. Revelation 21:4 says that God will wipe every tear from our eyes and death and pain will be no more. This is so comforting when we realize that this has to be referring to the earth, since these things don't occur in heaven.~ Lisa L
