On March 24, 2017, a mighty soldier in the army of the Lord, Lula Margaret Little, received her wings and is now resting forever in the arms of her Savior. She was born June 20, 1927 to the late Martin Tyson, Jr. and Julia Little Tyson.

She was educated in the West Anson County Public Schools and was once a member of First Baptist Church in Ansonville, NC.  When Elder H. L. Thomas founded the Friendship Church of God; she joined Rose of Sharon Holiness Church in 1949, where she served as Secretary for the church and the Friendship Church of God Fellowship for numerous years. She enjoyed beating the base drum and was a devoted and faithful member until her death. She was the current Mother of the Church who also enjoyed traveling with Rose of Sharon Choir on various singing engagements at every opportunity. She wholeheartedly believed in giving God praise in everything she did; understanding that He was the reason for her life and all that she had. There was never a time in her life where she felt she was without Him.

She was united in marriage to Charlie Smith, Jr. on January 25, 1948. To this union, three children were born: James L. Smith (Carol) of Burnsville, NC, Janie L. Robinson of Monroe, NC and Geanie L. Lowe of Charlotte, NC. Years after Charlie’s death, she married Lawyer Jr. Little and to this union two children were born: Marvin L. Little (Subrana) of Wingate, NC and Loraine L. Felder (Bernard) of Concord, NC. Her husband, Lawyer preceded her in death on November 17, 2008. Her sister, Mamie T. Lindsey, also preceded her in death.

 Lula also leaves to cherish her memory along with her children, her fifteen (15) grandchildren:  Juanita, Sherman and Tavis Robinson (Jeanesha) and Semaj Massey of Monroe, NC; Raymond, Leslie and Laura Brewer, Rashid Lowe, Rhonda Dunlap, Malerie (Joseph) Selph and Brandon Felder, Charlotte, NC; Leon Smith, Aquadale, NC; Dale Allen, Wingate, NC; Justyn Felder, Chapel Hill, NC and Joseph Felder, Concord, NC. She also had a favorite granddog, Tyson. Sixteen (16) great grandchildren, LaShondra, Donnie Jr. (DJ), Keyanna, Emmalee, Shaunvaria, Emmalee, Nevaeh, Tyra, Monell, Alonna, Leon Jr. (LJ), Dalmya, Daeysha, Dallin, Yasmine, Semiir and one great-great grandchild, Khloe.

Her memory will also be shared by her four dear sisters: Julia Smith, Baltimore, MD, Frances Wade, Morven, NC, Mary Kendall and Mattie Clark of Ansonville, NC, as well as her sisters-in-law, Annie McMorris and Hattie Ingram of Winston-Salem, NC.

Lula Margaret is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, her cousins and friends, and all whom she encouraged to the best of her ability. Her love for her family was unconditional and unselfish. All who knew her and experienced her loving, giving and caring spirit will miss her presence in the Ansonville community. 

 The Homegoing Services will be on Thursday, March 30, 2017, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Burial and Repass will follow in the family plot of the Rose of Sharon Church Cemetery, Ansonville, North Carolina.  

The Family will greet family and friends on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 12:30-1:00pm at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
