Mr. Johnny Boyd Meeks, age 61, of Gastonia, North Carolina was born on May 12, 1955 in York County, South Carolina.  He departed life on March 31, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.  He was the son of the late Ernest and Ivey McMackins Meeks. 

Johnny served in the United States Army and was employed in textiles up until becoming disabled later in life.  

Besides his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Floyd, Mattie Sue Brantley, and Virginia Meeks; as well as one brother, Ernest "June" Meeks.

Johnny leaves behind two daughters, Tanisha Meeks of Gastonia, N.C. and Tonya Falls of Clover, S.C.; three grandchildren, Ja'Quavious Sheppard of Greensboro, NC., Andre Sanders of Gastonia, NC., and Ny'Kia Falls of Dallas, N.C..; one sister, Ivory "Odessa" Floyd; three brothers, Roscoe Meeks (Celeste) of Charlotte, N.C., Eddie Meeks (Juanita) and Charlie Meeks (Genevia) both of Gastonia, N.C.; one uncle, Alonzo McMackins (Ruth) of Kings Mountain, N.C.; Johnny also leaves behind a very special friend, Myra Bell. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and some close yet great friends.

Saturday, April 8, 2017 @ 2:30 P.M.

VISITATION
The family will receive friends at the church for thirty minutes prior to funeral.
(2:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M.)

    I'm so very sorry for your loss. Death is so hard to deal with. The bible does provide us with comfort and hope. Revelation 21:4 says that God will wipe every tear from our eyes and death and pain will be no more. When we realize that this has to be referring to the earth, because these things don't exist in heaven, this can be a true source of comfort.
