Ms. Lessie Sutton, 100, of 120 Southwood Drive, Clinton, NC, formerly of Garland, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at Mary Gran Nursing Center.

 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 2pm, at St. Stephen AME Zion Church, Garland, NC, officiated by the Rev. Hugh Miller.  Burial will follow in Garland Community Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017, from 1pm until 7pm at the mortuary.

    My deepest sympathy to the family. I'm glad I got to see her when I was home. She looked younger than ever & remembered me even though many years had passed. We laughed & talked about old times. She was like extended family. She was loved but God loved her more. We will all be together one day

    We the St. Stephen AME Zion Church are sadden by the passing of our dear sister. We will cherished the sweet memories of the visit and the conversations that we had. She was full of knowledge and kept up with what was going on . We have family in our thoughts and prayers. She had a long life. Please remember that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
