Charles Edward “June” Alexander, Jr., passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 in Chattanooga. He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. He served his country in the United States Marines. He received a Purple Heart and a honorable discharge while serving in the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Juanita Akins and father, Charles Edward Alexander, Sr.; and son, Gregory D. Alexander, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Carolyn Beck Alexander; sons, Antwan Demetrius Alexander, Charles Torran Alexander, Tyrone D. Alexander and Victor Alexander; sisters, Blonzine Morris, Berdell A. Woodley, Rosalyn Smedly Dodson; mother-in-law, Ms. Helen E. Beck; four grandchildren; other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 14, 2017 at 1:00, New Covenant Church. Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after 12 noon on Thursday at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
