Sue Nance died peacefully Monday, April 3, 2017 surrounded by  her loving family.  Age, 88 years.  Beloved wife of the late Ray “Pete” Nance who predeceased her in 2002.  Loving mother of Edna Rae Rossi and Linda Sue Kirby and her husband Kevin all of Petaluma, California and John Dale and his wife, Cathy of Belen, New Mexico. Adored grandmother of James Thomason and his wife, Heidi, Tara Thomason, Paul Chowning and his wife Kim, David Chowning, Kristopher Kirby, Scott Kirby, Matthew Kirby, Kimberly Kirby, Peter Michael Nance and his wife, Sarah and Nicholas James Nance.  Devoted great-grandmother of nine. Loving sister of Edna Earl Sparks, Robert “Bob” Alexander and the late Kay Jackson, Bud Alexander and Darrel Alexander.  She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Born February 25, 1929, educated in Paris, Tennessee, she moved to Michigan when she was 14 after the death of her mother.  She met the love of her life Ray “Pete” Nance and they were married in 1949.  After they were married they moved to Pete’s hometown of Hatch, New Mexico.  They moved several times before settling in Southern California where they raised their children.  They then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1974 where they spent many happy years before finally retiring to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.  They traveled extensively throughout the United States in their R.V. often visiting their children in Northern California.  After Pete’s death in 2002, she moved to Petaluma, California to live with her daughter Linda and family.  Sue was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and cherished spending time with her family.  Church was a big part of her life and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Truth or Consequences.  She enjoyed crocheting, floral arranging, keeping a clean house, country music and the Oakland A’s.  Friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, April 10 at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 220 N. Broadway St., Truth or Consequences, New Mexico Followed by Interment in the Gardens of Memories Cemetery, 101 Apajo Way, Hatch, New Mexico.
