A funeral service celebrating the life and legacy of Mrs. Gwendolyn Joyce Blackwell will be held Monday at Greater Mt. Zion COGIC with Bishop Melvin T. Baker delivering the eulogy.
Our beloved, Gwendolyn Joyce Blackwell departed this life on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. at Cleveland Clinic Hospital
 
Mrs. Blackwell was born January 10, 1947 in Baltimore, MD a daughter of Dotsey and Beulah Campbell. She attended Farrell Schools.
 
She worked as a Nurse Assistant at Sharon Regional Hospital as well as several nursing homes in the area. She was currently employed at Isaiah 49. Prior to Isaiah 49 she worked as a Respite Care Worker through Community Counseling Center of Mercer County.
 
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Robert Blackwell Sr. whom she married January 18, 1964; her loving children, Kimberly Blackwell, Denver, Robert Blackwell Jr., Allentown, Pastor Cynthia Blackwell, Maryland, Annette (Andrew)Mastrian, Hermitage; nine grandchildren including Dierica Blackwell whom she raised as her own; three great grandchildren; her siblings, Dr. Diana Jones, Hermitage, Robert (Carolyn) Campbell, West Middlesex, Donald (Lee) Campbell, Gary, Indiana; her sister in law, Queenie  Pegues, Warren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Cornell and Jerome and a sister Carolyn.
 
The family will receive friends Monday from 9 -11 am at the church and at the home of Annette Mastrian, 2001 American Way Hermitage, Pa.
 
 
Interment will be in Morefield Cemetery.

    I'm so grateful that I know such a committed woman to her church and the progress of children. I'm also so grateful that she always checked on my mother. Someone so easy to love. So many are forever blessed as a result of her touch. Blessing to the family.
