Antonio “Tony” Rodriguez Muñóz, 75, a resident of Truth or Consequences, died at his home on Friday, April 14, 2017. He was born on April 10, 1942 in Gómez-Farias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Heliodoro and Manuela (Rodriguez) Muñóz.
A resident of Truth or Consequences for more than 40 years, Mr. Muñóz was originally from Nicolás Bravo, Chihuahua. He worked for the New Mexico State Highway and Transportation Department and retired in 1999. Mr. Muñóz was an accomplished contractor and had a great gift for fixing things. He was an extremely hard worker and built two homes for his family from scratch. He was a lifelong animal lover, and had great pride in the accomplishments of his daughters and dearly loved his grandchildren. He had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. He loved singing and playing his guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Torres) Muñóz, married since 1977; children – Gina Reneé Mantz and husband, Eric, and Rosa Muñóz and partner, Derrick Sanders; grandchildren – Jordan Stephen (14), Ethan Anthony (13) and Isabella Margaret (9); siblings – Monserrat Rodriguez and Rosa Hilda Rodriguez; and his beloved rescue dog, Reina Clementina. He was preceded in death by his father, Heliodoro Muñóz; mother, Manuela Rodriguez; and sister, Esperanza Rodriguez.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the Kirikos Family Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary Vigil will follow at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 21, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Marcos O. Reyna officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery.
