May the works I’ve done speak for me.  With her lamp trimmed and bright, Mittie was waiting on the Lord to come and take her to her eternal home.  In the still of the early evening at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on April 16, 2017 at 6:25pm, He came to end her suffering and take her to a place where she won’t have to die no more.  It is fitting that God had called her home on Easter Sunday; the day Jesus rose.  Mittie had labored tirelessly and had given all her time and talent doing His will.

Mittie Hardison Little was born February 9, 1931 in Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late Carrie Hardison.  She departed this life at the age of 86 years.  She received her education of training at Tillman Station and was a high school graduate of Deep Creek High School.  While at Tillman Station, she was the Secretary of the Sunday School and was a delegate to the Baptist convention.

At an early age, she joined Deep Creek Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until moving to Thomasville, NC.  After moving to Thomasville, she joined Brown New Calvary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health declined.  Even in declining health, Mittie still supported both churches.  She and her husband Wiley opened their home and their hearts to all Anson County natives who had relocated to Thomasville, NC seeking employment.

Mittie retired from working in the Textile Industry and then became a caretaker to many in Thomasville, NC and the surrounding areas.  Mittie has 2 special needs children: son, David and daughter, Jennifer who she took care of until she entered the hospital and was no longer able to.

She was married to Wiley Little Sr. who preceded her in death.  From that union, eleven children were born, three preceded her in death: Christine, Darryl, and Marie.  Two brothers, Charles and Joe Louis and three sisters, Mary, Martha and Catherine also preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her caring and loving memories are three sons, Wiley Little Jr., David Little, Thomasville, NC and Charles (Tonya) Little, High Point, NC.  Five daughters, Corrie Cole, Wallburg, NC, Carol Little, Thomasville, NC, Deborah (Paul) Young, High Point, NC, Linda (Rev. Leroy) Tyson and Jennifer Little, Thomasville, NC.  Seventeen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  Two brothers, Henry D. (Mary Alice) Hardison and Lee Thomas Hardison both of Wadesboro, NC.  Two sisters, Dora Burch, Amityville, New York and Louise Luallen, Greensboro, NC.  One brother-in-law, Lando (Creola) Little, Winston-Salem, NC.  Four sisters-in-law, Myrtle Hardison, Wadesboro, NC, Pricie Hardison, Wheatley Heights, New York, Louise Little and Wincey Harrington both of Wadesboro, NC.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friend

The Homegoing Celebration will be on Saturday, April 22, 2017, 3:00pm, Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Wadesboro, North Carolina with visitation from 2:30-3:00pm.  Burial will follow in the family plot of the Church Cemetery.

The Little Family will greet family and friends at the residence during the week and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 6:00-7:30pm at Brown New Calvary Church, Thomasville, North Carolina.

On Saturday, the Hardison-Little Family will assemble and leave from Smith’s Funeral Home, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, NC at 2:00pm en route to West Deep Creek Baptist Church, Wadesboro, NC.

What a fellowship what a joy divine leaning on the everlasting arm. It is my prayer that my friend Carol and the entire Little family will be comforted to know the same arms of Christ that are safely securing Mrs. Little are also there to give you peace and brighten your day until you meet again.

I would like to share a comforting Scripture from God's inspired Word, the Bible with the family. Isaiah 41:10 says: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness". Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Isaiah 40:31; Isaiah 41:13)
