On Monday, April 10, 2017 at Abbiejean Russell Care Center, Elder E. Rhyant transitioned from this life to be with The Lord.
Elder Rhyant received his basic education in Eufaula, Alabama and later in Dawson, Georgia. "Preacher Zeke" as he was affectionately called, was a long time resident of Fort Pierce, Florida. He worked for Coca-Cola for 20+ years. He enjoyed singing, fishing, and working in his garden.
Ezekiel accepted God's calling for his Life in February 1953. He was a dedicated member of The Apostolic Church of Jesus for over 42 Years, under the leadership of the late Bishop Joe T. Wimes Sr., there he served for 25 more years as an Assistant Pastor. Elder Rhyant also served as The Asst. East Coast District Overseer for 10 Years and Elder of the Church until his health would no longer permit.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 Years, Dorothy Rhyant; son, Pastor Ezekiel (Wendy) Rhyant; daughter, Dorothy (Kevin) Rhyant-Wilson; brother, Rev. Thomas (Odessa) Rhyant; seven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren;and a host of loving, In-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM at 13th Street "Greater Faith" Church of God, 1902 North 13th Street, Fort Pierce, Florida 34950. Viewing will be held on this Friday, April 21, 2017 from 3-6pm at Apostolic Church of Jesus, 1120 N 16th Court - Fort Pierce.
