Quietly and peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017 the Almighty God in his infinite love and wisdom gently called our beloved Gwendolyn Patricia Alsbrooks and she entered into eternal rest.  Gwendolyn Patricia Alsbrooks was born on October 31, 1948 to the late Martha Roseboro Monroe and Willie Monroe.  

At an early age she accepted Christ and was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gastonia, North Carolina.  She later became a member of the Little Rock AME Zion Church, Charlotte, North Carolina where she was a dedicated member who served as WH&OMS Life Member Chair Person, Secretary of Class #1, Secretary of Lay Council, Greeter’s Ministry, Adult Ministry, Economic Development Ministry, Quilting Ministry.

She attended Highland High School, Gastonia, North Carolina and graduated with the “Class of 1966”.  She also attended Lee University and graduated with the “Class of 2010” with a Bachelors in Christian Ministry.  Gwendolyn was a retired Accounts Receivable Specialist for Presbyterian Medical Facilities.  She was a President of the Home Owners Association in Greenleaf Villages.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Carroll; two brothers, Lee Roseboro and Ernest Roseboro; one stepsister, Jessie Parker.

Gwendolyn was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt.  Those left to celebrate her life and cherish fond memories are her husband, JT Alsbrooks; son, Travis Roseboro (Tiffaney) of Charlotte, N.C.; stepdaughter, Patricia Alsbrooks of Chesterfield, S.C.; sister, Mary Roseboro Davis of Gastonia, N.C.; two stepsisters, Willie Mae Monroe and Maggie Hardin both of Gastonia, N.C.; three grandchildren, eleven sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; a host of the nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Thursday, May 4, 2017 @ 1:00 P.M.

The family will receive friends at the church for thirty minutes prior to funeral.
(12:30 until 1:00 P.M.)

    I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. I did not know her, but I know how difficult it can be to lose someone in death. The bible does provide us with comfort and hope during times such as these. Revelation 21:4, says God will wipe every tear from our eyes and death and pain will be no more.
