Mr. Homer Perry, 85, of 174 Lee Road 564, Smiths, AL passed Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Midtown Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held 12 noon EST, Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Smiths, AL with Rev. Jeffery McCauley, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 1 - 8 p.m. EST.

Mr. Perry was born December 31, 1931 in Smiths Station, AL to the late Horace Perry and the late Louise Wilson. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was previously employed with Phenix Foundry.

Survivors include wife, Frances Perry of Smiths, AL;  three children; Patricia Perry of Phenix City, AL; Homer Jr.(Marry) Perry of Opelika, AL; Darron (Shelketta) Perry of  Phenix City, AL; two brothers, Ernest Perry of  Phenix City, AL and Henry Perry of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

    I am very sorry to read about Mr. Homer's passing. We can take comfort in Almighty God's personal promise to "wipe out every tear" and that soon ,even "death will be no more".Rev.21:3,4.

    To the family I am sorry for your loss. I know this is a hard time so I wanted to share a comforting scripture with you. Isaiah 25:8 says that god will swallow up death forever. We can look forward to a time when no one will die. I am sorry for your loss.
