Wilbert James Hills entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the age 53 at 3 pm, University Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. Wilbert was a member of the Zulu Social & Aid Pleasure Club, Co-Captain of Zulu Diamond Cutters, Zulu Big Dawgs, Zulu Tramps, Zulu Go-Getters and Zulu Toys for Tots. He leaves to cherished his memories his beloved wife Olivia (Brandy) Richardson-Hills. His loving daughters Lashawnda Platt, Cherise Hills, Zanithipia Hills, Zianithia Collins, Centrell Hills, Erica Hills, Andrea Richardson and one son Thomas Richardson. Nine grandchildren. Four brothers Clarence L., Roland, Terry Hills and Theodore Johnson. Five sisters Evangeline Weaver, Priscilla Coleman, Bernadette Riley, Darlene Noel and Patricia Reese. One uncle Lester Griffin. Devoted friend of Former Councilmember Johnny Jackson, Jr., Naaman & Lena Stewart. Preceded in death by his parents Helen HiIls Brown and Lionel Clarence Hills, step-father Theodore Brown, two sisters Gearldine Johnson and Diane Marie Hills. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives, friends, Pastor, officers and members of First Emanuel Baptist Church, Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club, employees of Broadmoor Construction,LLC, Betsy's Pancake House and Leidenheimer Bakery are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at First Emanuel Baptist Church 1829 Carondelet St., NOLA, Visitation begins at 8:00 AM. Pastor Charles J. Southall, III will officiate. Burial Private. The Officers and Members of the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club, Inc. are requested to attend the funeral services for Wilbert Hills, on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at First Emmanuel Baptist Church located at 1829 Carondelet Street, The viewing begins at 8am and the Service at 10:00am. This is a Jazz Funeral and transportation will be provided. The bus departs our Zulu home at 9:15am. - See more at:
