Funeral service for Willie Mae Crowder, 88, of Loachapoka, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church, 7282 Highway 14 West, Auburn, AL 36832 with interment in Pine Level Cemetery, Reverend Phelix Lockhart will officiate.

Mrs. Crowder, who passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at her home in Loachapoka, AL, was born on October 28, 1928 in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Crowder will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include: five sons, Ralph (Shirley) Crowder, Willie Lee Crowder, Milford Crowder all of Loachapoka, AL, Fletcher (Teresa) Crowder of Clarksville, TN and Marvin (Mae Ruby) Crowder of Auburn, AL; one sister, Stella Dunn of Auburn, AL; two sisters-in-law, Clara Matthews of Syracuse, NY and Emma Lou Echols of Loachapoka, AL; two special cousins, Clinton (Rombia) Jordan and Mae Z. Kimbrough of Loachapoka, AL; a special friend, Ruth Howard of Loachapoka, AL; two special neighbors, Martha Beasley and Johnnie Mae Taylor of Loachapoka, AL; eleven grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Ms. Shag will truly be missed. I can remember her holding my new born son and giving me advised on beginning a good mother. She was mother of the church and loved the kids. I will miss her in the choir as well. God has definitely gain an angle.

    What I meant to say was I don't remember a time that I visit Alabama that I was greeted with a smile and love from your Mom. She will be greatly miss.
