MRS. SHIRLEY ANN ROBINSON BREWER

Mrs. Shirley Ann Robinson Brewer, daughter of the late William Junior Robinson and Doris Melton Robinson was born on January 8, 1968 in Chesterfield, SC.  She departed this life on May 12, 2017 at her home in Charlotte NC after a long courageous battle with cancer.

On December 8, 1996, Shirley was baptized and accepted the Lord as her Savior as a member of Davidson Grove Baptist Church.  She was a 1986 graduate of Chesterfield High School and in 1998 became a graduate of Northeastern Technical College with an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy.  In 2008, she earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Central Piedmont Community College and in 2010, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.  She was employed at ATI metals in Monroe, NC as an Electrical Engineer with 20 years of service.  While there, she met many close friends.

Shirley was fondly known by many; but, her family was her greatest joy.  She had an outgoing spirit and she enjoyed family get-togethers, traveling, reading and mystery shows.  But, her greatest love came from spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren rotten.

In addition to her father, Shirley was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ross Junior Melton, her paternal grandparents, Bubba Myers and Ethel Mae Robinson, three uncles, James J. Funderburk, Jimmy Melton and Elbert Clark and one aunt, Peggy Robinson.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband of 12 years, Henry Lee Brewer, Jr., their three daughters, Sonya Alicia Little of the home, Erica Shantee Louallen (Paul Sweet), Salisbury, NC and Shavon Rottia Allen (Keona), Charlotte, NC; her loving mother, Doris M. Robinson, Ruby, SC; her grandmother, Margaret Streater Melton, Cooleemee, NC; six grandchildren, Minya Howard, Aiden Short, Imani Little, Jayden Short, Aniya Allen all of Charlotte, NC and Ava Sweet, Salisbury, NC; three sisters, Ethel (Travis) Wynn, Chesterfield, SC, Katrina Robinson and Wilhelmenia (Nathan) Fluellen both of Ruby, SC; one brother, Willie (Patricia) Robinson, Chesterfield, SC; three sisters-in-law, Betty Hall, Betty Ingram and Joann Brewer; one brother-in-law, Joe Brewer.

Eight aunts, Sallie Ann Robinson, Jeanette (Sylvester) Merrit, Paulette Clark, Pastor Hattie Chambers, Julia (Cornelius) Hart, Pastor Eva Mae (John) Miller, Virgie Sturdivant and Cynthia Harris; nine uncles, Tony Melton, Gary Melton, Reverend Barry Melton, Bryan Melton, Pastor Randolph Melton Tyrone (Phyllis) Melton, James Tillman, Ernest Tillman and Donald (Niecey) Tillman; five godchildren, Dakota Brister, Ronnie Brister, Chloe Rorie, Nathan Fluellen, Jr. and Titus Fluellen; a dear cousin, Wanda Chambers McCray, two close friends, Pamela Baker and Linda Bromley.  She also leaves nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.





The Homegoing Services will be on Thursday, May 18, 2017, 2:00pm, Davidson Grove Baptist Church, Chesterfield, South Carolina.  Burial will follow in the family plot of the church cemetery.

The Brewer and Robinson Family will greet family and friends on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 1:30-2:00pm at Davidson Grove Baptist Church, Chesterfield, South Carolina.
