Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Douglas Canion, Sr. will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017, 11:00 AM, Donald Trimble Chapel, 1876 Second Ave. with Rev. J. Gordon, officiating. Interment, West View Cemetery, Atlanta. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, May 19, 2017 at Donald Trimble Mortuary. Mr. Douglas Canion (Hook) was born on October 26, 1959, to the late Stephen and Emma Brooks-Canion in Macon Georgia. He attended and graduated from Columbia High School in De-catur, Georgia. He attended Dillard University for two years. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Smyrna Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia at an early age. Douglas worked for C & S Bank for over 20 years. He also worked for the City of McDonough Ga. for 8 years. Douglas entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 following a short illness. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, a loving in wife, Janet Canion and two beloved brothers, Stephen Canion and Avery Aaron Canion, and a beloved sister, Zenorlia Canion. He leaves to mourn two adored children, Angie (Franklin) Canion-Gardner, and Douglas Canion Jr.; five cherished siblings Mary Norman, Bertha C. Hill, Ethel (Yarbrough) Canion-Reese, Willie (Linda) Canion, Alfred Canion; one treasured sister in law, Deidra L. Canion; a beloved niece, Sherry (Bobby) Canion-Clark and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 2052 Seavey Dr., Decatur, at 10:00 AM.

    To The Family, May you have peace and comfort during this most grievous time. The Bible speaks of death as an enemy. 1 Corinthians 15:26 refers to death as the, "last enemy." Almighty God is going to eliminate this enemy in the future. That same scripture says, it is going to be destroyed forever .What a wonderful future blessing when death is going forever. May you continue to have peace and comfort during this most difficult time.

    I am so thankful for two and a half wonderful years with Douglas. I know this was a God thing. He leaves a legacy of love and respect with me. "Precious memories, how they linger". I send my condolences to the family. He loved his family very much. I pray that you will look God for comfort and understanding. He will see you through. God bless all of your.
