Maudean (Mot) Pittman
March 4, 1928~May 3, 2017

Maudean Pittman (Mot) was born March 24, 1928 to the late Willie and Iola Pittman of Sandy Hook, Mississippi. Maudean never ventures for from home to live. She grew up on a farm with eleven other siblings in the Mt. Bethel community. She attended school, church, fished and worked in this community most of her life. Maudean developed a very “big” heart for the people in this community and beyond. Her doors were always open, friends, family and strangers could easily feel at home with a meal under her roof.

After her life on the family’s farm, she entered the public work arena at Orleans Furniture Factory in Columbia, Mississippi. However, her love for the farm, friends and family never diminished, the welcome mat was always out at Mot’s house.

Mot join Mt. Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she remained an active member if her health permitted. She serves in many capacities but the one remembers most was the kitchen ministry.

She has now made her transitioned to join her parents Willie and Iola, six brothers, Rodger, Roy, Monroe, Lenus, Kenneth, and Quanis; four sisters, Mantroy, Gladys, Merline and Willena.

Her memories will be cherished by: one sister Stella of Sandy Hook, MS a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to include an entire community that will always remember her for the family and community gathering, birthday parties and much more.
