Obituary Send Flowers

Mr. W.C. Shealer, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on June 17, 2017.  Celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at New Light Baptist Church in Lavonia, GA.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

He was born Nov. 10, 1935 to the late Dock and Fannie Mae Earl Shealer.  He was preceded in death by his twin brother, W.B. Shealer and sister Fannie Lou Burtch. He joined the New Light Baptist Church at an early age where he served on the deacon board, usher board and was a member of the senior choir.  W.C. Worked at Coats & Clark for 21 years and retired from there. He had special friends that he kept in touch with, to meet and eat breakfast. He was a gold member of the Masonic lodge, Bowman #261.

He was married to his loving wife, Margie Stowers Shealer for 59 years. He is survived by his four children, Anthony (Sheryle) Shealer of Okinawa, Japan, Brenda (Robert) Allen of Athens, GA, Christopher (Pernita) Shealer of Martin, GA and Dale (Teresa) Shealer of Central, SC.  Sister-in-law Martha Mae Shealer of Lavonia, GA.  13, grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

    I'm sorry to hear about your loss. May you find strength from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).
