Rita Carol Rawls
September 30, 1961-May 15, 2017


Rita Carol Rawls was born on September 30, 1961, to Exie Jean Rawls and the late Rev. John Edward Rawls. 

Rita was the third of five children. At an early age Rita became a member of Second Hope Well M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. O. W. Spates.

Rita was educated through Pine Belt School Systems in Merion, Lamar and Forrest County.

Rita, was introduced to the life of Motherhood in 1978 when she gave birth to her only daughter Wyzetta “Dee” Rawls. Shortly after, Rita pursued her education at Antonelli College in which she received her certification in Micro Computer Technology.

As a young child Rita developed a profound passion for music. Rita began to self-train herself as well as her sisters on the piano. With her skills Rita began playing for various churches from Mississippi to Houston, TX. With many trials and tribulations, God spared Rita’s life to become a faith servant. Throughout life Rita became more than a conqueror, Dedicating her life with the gift of music, Rita touched many souls with her talent.

Rita leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving Mother ExieJean Rawls of Sumrall, MS, and one Daughter Wyzetta “Dee” Rawls of Sumrall, MS, two Brothers, Al Terry Rawls, Craig (Chris)Rawls of Sumrall, MS, Two Sisters, Janice McDonald of Sumrall, MS and Donna Fortner of Houston, TX. Two dedicated Nieces, Tanisha Rawls, and LeAnne(Marco) Rangel of Houston, TX. Six Nephews, Adrian McDonald of Houston, TX, Clarence(Hope)Stokes, Desmond Sims, Anthony Waller, Ronald Poledore of Sumrall, MS and Trent Smith of Houston, TX. And a host of relatives that played very important parts.
