Walter Lampton, Jr.
July 7, 1971~March 5, 2017


Walter Lampton, Jr. was born in Columbia, Mississippi. He was the son of the late Walter Henry Franklin and Mary Sue Lampton. Walter was educated at and graduated from Columbia High School in 1990. He furthered his education at Pearl River Community College, Hinds Community College, Louisiana Technical College and the University of Southern Mississippi where he obtained a Certificate of nursing and became a certified electrician.

Walter, worked offshore for several years with various companies. He joined the military at the age of seventeen. He was stationed at several different locations around the world. He was also deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Early in Life he became a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Columbia, Mississippi but later rededicated his life to God and became an active member at Owens Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, Mississippi under the direction of Rev. Isaac Brown.

He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Franklin, Mother, Mary Sue Lampton, brother Charles E. Smith, and sister, Billie Jean Coleman.

Fond Memories will linger in the hearts of one child, Keeley Elizabeth; three sisters, Selena Lampton, Michell Lampton and Jennifer Spann(Arnall); three brothers, Clarence Lampton, Eric Lampton(Jamie) and Kunta Lampton; a host of nieces and nephews, Marcus, Charvo, Channing, Shana, Gelese, Kingston, Justin, Jr. Jaelah, Raven,Erin, Brooklyn, Eric, Jr., Bianca, Audriana, Ezarion; a host of aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-Nephews.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories a very special woman Diane Mingo and a puppy Benny
