Mr. Ralph “Captain” Eugene Hoyle, Sr. of Gastonia, North Carolina gained his heavenly wings on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina.  He was born March 8, 1928 in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Stacy Eugene Hoyle and Annie Graham Hoyle.

He was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Gastonia North Carolina.   Ralph attended school at Mt. Zion.  He retired from Akers Motor Line in Gastonia, North Carolina.  He was known for his carpentry of building.  Ralph built his very own home and also his sister’s homes.  He will be remembered by his family, friends and community for his liberal giving of home grown produce and his love for his tractor.

Ralph was a very quiet and humble man.  He was a great husband, father and provider for his family.  His friends loved and cherished him also.  His motto was “Treat people the way you want to be treated” and “whatever you do, do it with pride.”

Besides his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ola Mae Hoyle; six sisters, Shirley Hoyle, Edna K. Hoyle, Geneva O. Hoyle, Virginia Hoyle Williams, Mary Frances Hoyle Chapman and Doris Hoyle Scott.

Our father Ralph leaves to rejoice in his memories four daughters, Shelia Hoyle Hall, Nennie Woods (Kenon), Stacie Ann Hoyle and Mary Helen Scott; one son, Ralph Eugene Hoyle, Jr.; five grandchildren, Ewanica, Erica (William), Courtney, Raffie and Ronald; six great grandchildren, Adam, Landen, Drayden, Dion, Ronald and Quincy; three sisters, Ruby Hoyle of New York, Alice Hoyle-Reid and Delores Mills (Charles) of Gastonia, N.C.,; one brother, Tommy Hoyle (Betty) of Gastonia, N.C.; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

VISITATION
The family will receive friends at the church on Monday for thirty minutes prior to funeral
(12:30 until 1:00 P.M.)
