~ The Obituary ~

Mr. James Henry Lamons was born March 15, 1945 to the late Emma Brown Lamons and the late James Lamons. He departed this life July 13, 2017 at Archbold Memorial Hospital.

He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a member of Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Dixie, Georgia. He loved his work as a farmer until his health began to fail. He enjoyed fishing with his son Curly and loved his social Sunday ’s with his family and friends at his sister ’s Drew Etta.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a son, James Henry Lamons Jr. (Jennifer) of Thomasville, GA and daughter, Sandra Denese Smith (Darrell) of Chester, VA; two sisters, Lee Ruth Barnes (Deceased) and Drew Etta Laster of Boston, GA; four brothers, Charles Lamons (Dot) of Boston, GA, Morris Lamons (Faleshia) of Thomasville, GA, Edward Lamons of Boynton Beach, FL, Robert Lamons of Boston, GA and Carlton Lamons (Deceased); a dedicated and loving companion, Alma Dell Mitchell of Thomasville, GA; seven grandchildren, Tiffani Crumby, Parrish Lamons, Brittany Smith, Constance Smith, Quinn McIntyre, Chelsea McIntyre and Skylar Lamons; aunts and uncles, Lilly Brown Johnson (Albert), Sally Mae Brown Williams, Eddie Brown (Helen), Willie Bee Brown (Rose); Mitchell family, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11AM at Beulah Hill Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Corey King, eulogist.  Burial will follow in the Beulah Hill Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 1PM until 8PM.
