Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and LaJuan was beautiful inside and out.  Born May 19, 1956, in Gastonia, North Carolina to Ruby Lineberger Chisholm,  she came into this world making others happy.  LaJuan treasured helping and assisting others.  She was God’s Angel that shared with and cared for anyone who needed her services.  She touched so many with her smile.

LaJuan received her education from Clay Street (now York Chester Middle School), Grier and Ashley Junior High Schools.  She later graduated from Ashbrook High School “Class of 1974”.  She received a childhood certification from Gaston College.  She never stopped advancing her knowledge, even when she became ill.  She loved all children and they loved her.  Lajuan worked at Cora’s Daycare and UR Childcare both in Gastonia, North Carolina.  Her goal was to make all children and youth feel good about themselves.

LaJuan was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.   She was an active participant in the Singles Ministry, a Greeter on the Hospitality Ministry, and a member of the Victory In Praise Mass Choir.  Music was her passion.  She loved singing and praising God.  Tabernacle Baptist Church and the church family were inspirational to LaJuan.  When she talked of the Ministry, she would shine.  She truly loved her church and all the members.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Cora and Sloan Lineberger, her mother, Ruby Lineberger Chisholm and her aunts, Grace Levy and Ruth Lineberger.  Lajuan passed away peacefully, Sunday October 15, 2017 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Winston Salem.

She will be forever remembered by the love of her life, her daughter, Arkia Armstrong (Mario) and the family dog, Nehi; sister, Pamela Williams; brother, Terry Chisholm (Mamie); a dear cousin, Michael Levy (Dorrence); nieces, Terrona Ross (Torben), Fran Collins (Ricky), and Brandi Williams (Caden Minter); a host of other special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Death is such a difficult thing to have to deal with. The bible does provide us with comfort and hope in times such as these. Revelation 21:4 says that God will wipe every tear from our eyes and death and pain will be no more. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
