Mrs. Thomasina “Sis” Williams Steele was born in Gastonia, North Carolina on August 6, 1926 and on Sunday, November 5, 2017 with her family by her side, she opened her eyes wide with the absolute expression of joy, and the peace that surpasses all understanding as she departed life on this side and entered into her eternal heavenly home.  Sis was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Cherry Friday.

Sis loved God, and her church family.  Sis was a virtuous woman,  quiet spirit, a praying woman with tremendous faith in God. She worked in assembly and later became a machine operator. She enjoyed her employment with Homelite and was truly grateful for employment that provided for her and her family. She enjoyed twenty-six wonderful years of retired life prior to her recent illness.

Sis never drove a car, but if wheels were rolling she was on the go; she loved to travel and enjoyed time with family and friends.  She also loved to cook and share anything she had, Sis was a giver who would give her last to anyone who needed it.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Steele; two sons, Jerry Williams and Fredrick Williams; sister, Mattie Sanders and her brothers, Lorenzo Friday, Sr.

Sis will be remembered as a special woman who was well loved by her family,
friends and by all who had the opportunity and the privilege of interacting with her.
She lived her life as a proud Christian trusting in God
and believing all things are possible with the grace of God through prayer.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Death is never easy to deal with, even Jesus himself wept when his friend Lazarus feel asleep in death and he knew he could resurrect him. The bible promises us a resurrection for our dead love ones. (John 5:28,29) My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. May you find strength from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
