Mrs. Gladys Thompson Reid of 814 Memory Lane, Gastonia, North Carolina was born February 15, 1936 in York County, South Carolina and departed this life Friday, November 17, 2017 at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Ruby Odessa Sanders Thompson.

She was a member of Center Baptist Church, Gastonia, North Carolina where she served on the Usher Board, Hymn Choir, Musical Chorus, Kitchen Committee and Trustee Board.  She was  a member of the Gaston County Housing Authority and the Neighborhood Watch.

She was a graduate of Reid High School in Belmont, North Carolina and attended Gaston College Architect Program.  She was employed at the old Negro Hospital in Gastonia, North Carolina and an Entrepreneur, Real Estate Investor and Owner.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Campbell Reid; son, Reginald Reid and brother, Alexander Thompson.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her daughter, Cheryl Reid of Los Angeles, Ca; two sons, Campbell Evans Reid and Robert Lee Thompson of Gastonia, N.C.; three sisters, Olivia T. Young, Vernell T. Thomas (John) and Mary T. Love of Gastonia, N.C.; two brothers, Oscar Thompson (Mozelle) and Marion Thompson (Suzanne) of Gastonia, N.C.; sister-in-law, Annette Duff of Gastonia, N.C.; grandson, Jordan Reid of Orlando, Fla; a host of other relatives and friends.

Wednesday, November 22, 2017 @ 12:00 Noon

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday Evening (11/21/2017)
(6:30 until 8:00 P.M.)
