I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family. While I did not know Ms. Livingston personally, I do know the pain of losing someone in death. What has helped my family to cope is the Bible's message of hope and comfort. In it, our Heavenly Father assures us that he understands our feelings and promises to reunite us with our dear loved ones (Psalm 34:18 and John 5:28,29). In the days to come, may these warm scriptural thoughts help your family to endure. For more comforting thoughts, please visit jw.org. Take care.

To The Grieving Family of Ms. Lucinda Livingston.... A message of Solace at The Time of Your Lost of a Loved One………… Many Wonder: What Happens to Us When We Die? WHY THE QUESTION ARISES: Most of the world’s religions teach that something inside a person continues living after death. Some hold that the dead can harm the living or that God punishes the wicked by condemning them to eternal torment in a fiery hell. WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES: At death, humans cease to exist. “The dead know nothing at all,” states Ecclesiastes 9:5. Since the dead cannot know, feel, or experience anything, they cannot harm—or help—the living.—Psalm 146:3, 4. It is my sincere hope that these words/this knowledge helps to sustain you, your family during your Bereavement… See also Genesis 3:19 and Ecclesiastes 9:6, 10. We deeply feel for what you and the family are going through. At times, there isn't much that can soothe the pain this grief brings, but you may find some comfort in the words of Psalms 9:9 which reads: "Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress." Yes, our Loving God can help if we allow him to (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth, when it is restored to a Paradise (Acts 24:15; Psalms 37:9-11,29). No, not just a dream, but for a certainty he will do it, for Isaiah 55:11 shows us that everything he says, he accomplishes without fail. You can find out more online at JW.ORG
