I wanted to reach out to you during this sad time to offer my condolences. While nothing will completely take away your grief, by meditating on God’s promises found in the Bible, you can find real hope and the strength to keep going. I have found the scripture at Isaiah 25:8 to be especially comforting. Here it promises that God "will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. "

To The Grieving Family of Mr. Michael Murphy..... A message of Solace at The Time of Your Lost of a Loved One………… Many Wonder: What Happens to Us When We Die? WHY THE QUESTION ARISES: Most of the world’s religions teach that something inside a person continues living after death. Some hold that the dead can harm the living or that God punishes the wicked by condemning them to eternal torment in a fiery hell. WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES: At death, humans cease to exist. “The dead know nothing at all,” states Ecclesiastes 9:5. Since the dead cannot know, feel, or experience anything, they cannot harm—or help—the living.—Psalm 146:3, 4. It is my sincere hope that these words/this knowledge helps to sustain you, your family during your Bereavement… See also Genesis 3:19 and Ecclesiastes 9:6, 10. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family. While I did not know Mr. Murphy personally, I do know the pain of losing someone in death. What has helped my family to cope is the Bible's message of hope and comfort. In it, our Heavenly Father assures us that he understands our feelings and promises to reunite us with our dear loved ones (Psalm 34:18 and John 5:28,29). In the days to come, may these warm scriptural thoughts help your family to endure. For more comforting thoughts, please visit jw.org. Take care.

We're sorry to hear about your recent loss. May you find strength from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." What a loving God who cares about each one of us. He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
