Mrs. Yolanda Faye Glenn Cobb, 57

Monday evening, December 25, 2017, the Lord called his precious daughter home at Piedmont Hospital in Stockbridge, GA. 


Yolanda Faye Glenn Cobb, was born in Quitman, GA on October 7, 1960 to the late Mr. Johnnie L. Glenn and Mrs. Ruth Glenn Scott.  Faye, as she was affectionately called, was the oldest of three children. Faye attended Beulah Missionary Baptist Church with her parents and served faithfully there in the gospel choir. 


Faye graduated from Brooks County High School in 1978. She was a member of the BCHS Marching and Concert Bands and was the first African American young lady crowned Miss BCHS her senior year. 


Upon graduation Faye attended Fisk University in Nashville, TN. She transitioned to Albany State University and received her B.S. degree in Music Education in 1987. Faye was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She began teaching in Waynesboro, GA where she taught Middle School Chorus and then moved to Spanaway, WA and taught there for 17 years. Faye then moved to the Atlanta area in 2005 and began teaching at Austin Road Middle School in Stockbridge, GA, 2006-2015. In 2016 she continued to teach Middle School Music and moved to the Dekalb County School System where she completed her career.  


Faye leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband, Errol Cobb Stockbridge GA; her children, Catherine Williams Statesboro GA, Margaret Williams Atlanta GA, Charles Williams Statesboro GA; her mother Ruth Glenn Scott and step father Russell Scott Columbus GA; sister Regina Stokes (Fred) Orlando FL; a brother Clifford Glenn (Lisa) Upper Marlboro MD; cousin (like a sister) Valerie Williams Chicago, IL; stepson, Errol Cobb, Jr., (Stephanie) Quitman GA; step brothers Greg Sweeting, Miami FL and Russell Scott Jr. (Chris) Columbus GA; step sisters Tina Scott Decatur GA and LaReese Vines (Emory) Columbia SC; sisters-in-law Barbara Ramsey (Robert) Brunswick GA, Debra Henley, Atlanta GA, Vicki Peak (Lee) Quitman GA, Geneva Billings, Brunswick GA; Brothe- in-law Kenneth Wesley (Vondella) Brunswick GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends.


Funeral services were Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Beulah Missionary Baptist Church in Quitman with Pastor Walter Mays officiating. Burial followed in the North End Cemetery in Quitman. Condolences may be made by visiting Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

    My deepest sympathy for your loss and condolences to the family and friends. God does Not cause death right now. Time and unforseen occurrences be fall all Ecc 9:11 . It is wonderful to know that soon our heavenly father is sending his son , Jesus, to solve all mankinds problems, by means of his kingdom coming here on Earth. Matthew 6:10 . You remember this scripture, our father who is in Heaven hallow be your name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth , as it is in Heaven. You see it is a government that Jesus will rule as King. It will bring no more pain, no more sorrow, no more morning, no more tears, no more death , the dead will live again, here on Earth, No more wars . we will have peace and a paradise, plus tame animals, we will be young again, here on Earth.
