­ A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Clarence "Jack"
Mitchell Jr. will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the J.E. Washington Funeral
Home in Youngstown, OH. Mr. Mitchell departed this life Jan. 25, 2018, at the Hospice House in
Mr. Mitchell was born May 28, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of Clarence and
Dorothy Coney Mitchell. He was a graduate of The Rayen School and proudly
served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed
with Cold Metal Products and later retired from Giant Eagle in Youngstown.
He was a loving father, husband and brother who will be deeply missed by
those who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Wanda Anderson Mitchell;
his children, Elisha (Fredrick) Bankston, Nechelle (Jerome) Dixon, Denise
Mitchell, Juanita White, Latasha and Craig Riley, Faith Chaney, Tanasha
Ellis, Whitney Veal, Dwan Duncan, Devon and Kevin Anderson, Anisha Woods and
Devron Johnson; his siblings, Jeanette Hinton, Janice Strozier, Raymond
Winphrie; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other
relatives and dear friends including his close friend, Dion Paige.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the J.E. Washington Funeral
Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the
funeral home.
