Mrs. Mickey O. Tucker, 62

Mickey Olden Williams was born the second child to Olden Ralph and Mercedes Jackson Williams on January 9, 1956. Mickey is preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Olden Ralph Williams, Jr. She attended public schools in Cook County, Georgia. Mickey accepted the Lord at an early age and she joined the Cottrell Chapel C.M.E. Church in Sparks, Georgia. She was a hard worker and was as nice as they come. After leaving the sewing factory in Adel, Mickey soon landed a job as a custodian for the Cook County Board of Education, where she has been employed for 29 years until just recently, when her health began to decline. Tenacity and perseverance was very present in Mickey’s life. She continued to work and perform daily, when she didn’t even feel like it. Mickey often conveyed how proud she was of her children and that she loved them dearly. If genuine was on one’s mind, it was easy to identify Mickey in this regard. Mickey was such a graceful woman who never complained and continued to share God’s goodness with those she came in contact with. Several years ago, she was attacked with cancer and survived it and it’s obstacles, with the aid of her family and strong hand from her baby, Willie Jr.

God picks the ripe and He leaves the unripe to be ripened. On January 16, 2018, Mickey laid her life to rest with the Lord. Mickey leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Willie Elvis Tucker, Sr.; four wonderful children, Samona Brown Durr (Jerome), John H. Brown, III (Schyuler), Nickie Tucker (Harold) and Willie E. Tucker, Jr. (Audrieana); four sisters, Maria Alexander (Jerry), Wanda Williams, Cecelia D. Hill (Danny) and Edith Michelle Eady (Earl); ten grandchildren, Brittany Brown, Chelsea Brown, Shelby McKinnon, Johnathan Brown, Amiya Brown, Jordan Hosea, Jamere Durr, Jaeden Durr, Jamison Durr and Chavis Merritt; one great grandchild, Nova Smith; mother-in-law, Mable Tucker; several wonderful brothers and sisters-in-law; and host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and devoted friends.

Funeral services were Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. at Holy Community Church in Adel, Georgia with Pastor Gregory Durr presiding and Minister Earl Eady officiating. Burial followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery Annex in Adel. Condolences may be made by visiting stevensmcgheefuneralhome.com  Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home, Quitman, Georgia was in charge of the arrangements.

Willie, we're so sorry to hear you are mourning the recent lossof your wife. May you find strength and comfort from the words of Psalms 46:1 which reads: "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress." Our loving God is there for us if we ask for his help (1 John 5:14). He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your loved ones? What a joy it will bring all of us. You can go online to JW.ORG and find out more about this resurrection.
