Christal Steele Faust, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the age of 74. A native of Golden, Mississippi, Christal graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After teaching for four years in Washington, DC, she would eventually become a full-time homemaker and pastor's wife. Christal was by her husband's side, Elder W.F. Faust, Jr., as he led the construction of the new edifice of Faust Temple Church of God in Christ. They served there from 1985 to 1988. In 1989, with her support, Pastor Faust founded Victory In Christ Bible Church where they have faithfully served for 28 years. Christal was diligent in her role as Director of Women's Activities and instituted several programs and events for the Girls of Victory. She also served her community over the years through her work with the Parent Teachers Association at Fort Caroline Middle School and Terry Parker High School here in Jacksonville. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Elder W.F. Faust, Jr.; daughters, Kristen and Katrina; and sons, Willie III (Erica), Archie and Phillip. HOMEGOING CELEBRATION of Christal's life will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church, 5863 Moncrief Road. Christal will rest at Victory In Christ Bible Church, 2525 W. Edgewood Avenue, for visitation of friends on Thursday, February 15th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and in St. Thomas Missionary Baptist Church on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery by MARION GRAHAM MORTUARIES, 1504 Gandy Street, (904) 765-0310.
