Laura Mae White Stringfellow, 78, entered into heaven on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born in Gaston County and was the daughter of the late Will and Victoria Crank White.

Ms. Stringfellow was a loyal and faithful member of Power for the Hour Ministries here in Gastonia. She was a loving and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great granny, and an awesome friend.

Ms. Stringfellow attended Reid High School. She later obtained her CNA I and CNA II certifications and worked at several nursing homes over the years in Gastonia and Kings Mountain. Ms. Stringfellow also worked as a Guardian Ad Litem for Gaston County for years. Ms. Stringfellow worked for Hospice of Gaston and Cleveland County in her later years until she was 75years old. She often said that helping people transition this life was the best job she ever had and it gave her so much satisfaction. She also loved to sing and for years sang on hymn choirs here in Gastonia and she also took great pride in her duty of ushering in the church. Ms. Stringfellow was a part of   multiple auxiliaries over the years with the Baptist Association including the usher board.

Ms. Stringfellow loved to bake and to cook and she loved to see people happy and eating. She would help anyone and she never met a stranger and she made a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She either knew you or someone in your family. Ms. Laura, as she was known to so many, never left the house and didn't run into someone she knew. Although she will be sorely missed, the family takes great comfort in knowing that she is now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thiry-four years, Glenn Stringfellow,  two brothers, Jimmy and J.C. White, her sister, Peggy White, and son, Fredrick “Pee Wee” White.

She is survived by her sons, William Bernard White (Marilyn) of the home and Victor White of Durham, N.C. Ms. Stringfellow also leaves to cherish fond memories of her fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-children, and a host of cousins and friends.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Death is never an easy thing to have to deal with. Jesus himself wept when his friend Lazarus feel asleep in death and he knew he could resurrect him. God's word the bible helps us to see that God will resurrect our dead love ones. (John 5:28,29)
